About the Author
Matt Drance founded Bookhouse Software, an iOS development and consulting company, after an eight-year career at Apple. He also trains new iOS developers for the Pragmatic Studio, and shares his thoughts on the industry at Apple Outsider (appleoutsider.com). When he isn't coding, writing, teaching, or being a stay-at-home dad, Matt snowboards and races cars in Northern California.
Paul Warren fell in love with computer graphics, programming on his Commodore 64, in the early 80s. After 20 years of corporate programming in assembler, he got back to his first love: working with fun graphical systems. Paul's iOS development and consulting company, Primitive Dog, specializes in 2D animation and custom controls. Two young daughters are enough to take up any time not spent making things flip, spin, and fly across his screen.

Excellent for new and experienced devs!
By WH
I have been in on this book since it was in beta. The tips and tricks are of enduring worth and have found myself teaching the patterns in them to other developers. There are a lot of effects you see in apps where you find yourself wondering how they are implemented in code. This book goes in depth with great code documentation to spell it all out so you can focus on adding your distinctive flair. Great read and a must have for new and experienced devs alike.

The best iOS programming book I have seen
By Benoit Maison
I have looked at lots of books about iOS programming. Many, especially the beginners' books, rehash the Apple documentation with variable success. There are some great books on Cocoa programming that give you a theoretical foundation.
This book provides recipes that solve many important problems (like reusable table views), but also explain what the alternatives are, and why some choices are made. Intermediate and advanced developers are guaranteed to learn something useful.
Chapter after chapter, Matt and Paul show that they deeply understand iOS development, and they know how to share their experience with the readers effectively.
This book is a winner!

Exactly what I needed - in so many levels!
By Giovanni Dienstmann
I have simply loved this book. It has helped me so much.
The selection of "recipes" is excellent, and I`d say that anybody will find some recipes that will help them greatly. For me, each recipe helped deepen the understanding of the iOS SDK, and many of them addressed problems I had many times in my development career, with elegant and reusable solutions.
This book is not for beginners, as the authors don`t go into detail for each line of code. But if you have already mastered the basics, and worked on a couple of apps, then for sure you will benefit greatly from this resource.
