A collection of emails & bulletin board posts--no true insights

If you've been following bodybuilding for the last 20 years or so you know who Lee Priest is and what a great bodybuilder he was. You also know he didn't pony up and "play politics." Lee often seemed to go out of his way to aggravate the officials and behind the scenes "powers-that-be" of the sport. Today Lee lives with the consequences of his decisions, and more power to him.
Which is why you might expect some kind of kick-ass, insightful book, which--sad to say--this isn't.
This book is basically a bunch of email messages between Priest and (author/collaborator on Lee's DVD training series)York. Very little context is provided, so for example if you don't know who Wayne DeMelia was or what the PDI represented you'd be kind of in the dark. Lee has always been very open about his life, including his "supplementation" (read: steroid use), and you'd think this book could have at least tread some of that ground but it doesn't.
Instead it reads as if author York lost a bundle in his dealings with Priest and, looking to recoup some of that, threw this book together and self-published it. As a fan of bodybuilding, Lee Priest, and York's video series, I don't like writing this review, but I wanted to give buyers a heads up. Sure, the asking price won't kill your pocket, but at $3.99 it's about $3 overpriced. This should have been the book Nasser and Paul Dillet had promised fans. Woefully, it isn't.

Terrible book

Who wrote this book ? A 10 year old ? All it is, is a bunch of one liners. GARBAGE & don't even waste your time, or your money !

Disappointed by Priest

For a long time I have been interested in the bodybuilding career of the Australian, Lee Priest. The title of this book promises material on bodybuilding, relationships and other disasters and is very disappointing. All it amounts to is a series of reprints of e-mails between the author, Scott York, and Lee Priest over their devopment of a series of bodybuiulding related reality DVD's for sale to the public. For a slice of one tiny bit of the life of Lee Priest it has some value as a reference, I suppose. The full book of the life of this interesting and oftentimes controversial bodybuilder has yet to be written. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT IT.
